Indonesian U-22 national team player Kadek Arel Priyatna said his team still had many shortcomings after losing 0-3 in their first friendly match against Mali U-22 at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor, last Saturday.
"Yes, in yesterday's game, there were definitely many shortcomings, because we didn't manage to win. Starting from communication, starting from the distance between players, which was perhaps still a bit too far, and of course, finishing was also a problem for us. Of course, in this afternoon's training, we will fix it," said Kadek answering reporters' questions during team training at Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium, Jakarta, Monday.
Indonesia will play their second match against Mali in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games tomorrow, Tuesday, at Pakansari Stadium.
Kadek stated that his team had received extensive evaluation from the coaching staff to improve their weaknesses and achieve better results in the second match.
"Of course, the coaching team has had a lot of evaluations since the meeting this morning. We've done a lot of evaluations. Now, this afternoon, one day before the second leg, we'll be evaluating and figuring out our tactics for the second leg against Mali tomorrow," said the Bali United player.
Kadek assessed that Mali is a team that has good speed and collectivity.
