Mekies hopes the world champion racer of the past four seasons can again show this amazing performance in the remaining two races of this season.
"In terms of driving and what Max does, I think he's as good or better than any driver we've seen. There are many, many examples (of winning) this year," Laurent Mekies was quoted as saying by Formula 1 on Tuesday.
"Now, we know we've suffered in the first half of the season. The guys have done a fantastic job and managed to turn the car around to its current performance, and now he can fight for wins again, he's done a fantastic job," added Mekies, who was appointed Red Bull team principal midway through the season.
