Marco Bezzecchi wins pole position at the Portuguese MotoGP

  Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi secured pole position for the 2025 Portuguese MotoGP at the Algarve International Circuit after recording the fastest lap time in qualifying session 2 (Q2) on Saturday.


Bezzecchi, who advanced to Q2 from fourth in practice, set the fastest lap of 1 minute 37.556 seconds to lead the race in Portugal.


The Italian rider's time was 0.150 seconds ahead of Red Bull KTM rider Pedro Acosta in second place with 1 minute 37.706 seconds.


In third place, 0.304 seconds behind, was Monster Energy Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo. The French rider put in a strong performance in Q2 with a time of 1 minute 37.860 seconds, having advanced to this session from qualifying 1 (Q1).




Meanwhile, below Bezzecchi, Acosta, and Quartararo, there is Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia, who won a race at this circuit in 2023.


Pecco, as he's known, clocked a time of 1 minute 37.935 seconds to secure fourth place. Gresini rider Alex Marquez finished fifth with a time of 1 minute 37.987 seconds.


The sixth to tenth places were occupied by Johann Zarco, Joan Mir, Jack Miller, Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Pol Espargaro.


After this qualifying session, all racers will play a 12-lap sprint race session at 22.00 WIB.
