Persija Jakarta coach Mauricio Souza is confident that his team is indeed better than their visitors, Persik Kediri, after the Kemayoran Tigers won their BRI Super League match against their opponents with a 3-1 victory on Thursday.In the match played at Manahan Stadium in Surakarta, Persik took the lead through an Ezra Walian free kick in the first half. However, Persija responded in the second half with goals from Eksel Runtuhakhu, Maxwell, and Witan Sulaeman.
"We were better than our opponents throughout the match. Up until their goal, the pitch was still playable. After their goal, the pitch was no longer playable," Souza said at a post-match press conference, as quoted in an audio recording received by reporters.
"But I believe Persija was the better team in this match from the first minute. We conceded, but we were still the better team on the pitch," he continued.
