Persija extended their winning streak by defeating Persik 3-1.

Persija Jakarta extended their winning streak to five in a row after defeating Persik Kediri 3-1 in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League match at Manahan Stadium, Surakarta, on Thursday.

This result cements the Kemayoran Tigers' position in second place in the Super League standings with 26 points. They are four points behind leaders Borneo FC, who have 30 points but have only played 10 matches.

Coach Mauricio Souza made several changes in this match. This time, he started Thales Lira and Arlyansyah Abdulmanan to fill the positions vacated by the suspensions of Jordi Amat and Allano Souza.

Persija had the first chance, with Fabio Calonego's powerful shot from outside the box being blocked by Persik goalkeeper Leonardo Navacchio. The next good chance for the hosts, Persija, came from a quick attack in the 35th minute, but Eksel Runtukahu failed to deliver a precise pass for Maxwell to finish.

As time wore on, both teams struggled to develop their game due to the heavy rain that drenched the Manahan Stadium pitch. Amidst this, it was Persik who took the lead through Ezra Walian's curling free kick, which beat Carlos Eduardo's Persija goal.

Persik's 1-0 lead held until halftime. As the second half was about to begin, the organizing committee decided to postpone the match due to the waterlogged pitch, making it difficult for the ball to roll properly.
