Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell scored 32 points to lead his team to a 120-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Cup match in Cleveland, Saturday WIB.
The Cavaliers were boosted by the return of Darius Garland, who added 20 points after missing five games with a bruised left big toe. Garland played 26 minutes, scored 18 points in the first half, made 5 of 12 shots, including three three-pointers, and made all seven free throws.
Evan Mobley also contributed significantly from the paint with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The win improved Cleveland to 2-1 (W2, L1) in the Eastern Conference Group A.
The Cavaliers led 62-55 at halftime before going on a 21-9 run over four minutes in the third quarter that widened the lead to 16 points. Jalen Tyson contributed eight of his 14 points in the spurt. The Cavaliers reached their largest lead, 103-81, after Mitchell hit a 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter.
