Two Papua Athletics Center (PAC) athletes, Eqman Yance Elektriko Kafiar and Fransisko Adrianto Makaminang, recorded positive results at the 17th South East Asian (SEA) U18–U20 Athletics Championship 2025 which took place at the North Sumatra Madya Atletik Stadium, Deli Serdang, November 15–18.
"Eqman and Fransisko have demonstrated consistent performance and a strong fighting spirit at the Southeast Asian level. Their achievements further emphasize the quality of the Papua Athletics Center as a development center capable of producing new, competitive athletes," said PB PASI Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, as quoted in a written statement on Saturday.
Eqman Yance Elektriko Kafiar stood out by winning four medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals in the U20 category.
On the first day (November 15), Eqman won a bronze medal in the men's U20 400-meter event with a time of 48.48 seconds. The Jayapura native also won a silver medal in the men's U20 200-meter event on November 17, clocking 21.57 seconds.
Eqman also contributed in two relay events. He won silver in the mixed 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.69 seconds, and took home bronze in the U20 mixed 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:48.14 on November 18.
