The match against Qarabag coincided with the fifth anniversary of the Argentine football legend's death.
Coach Antonio Conte said the victory would be a special tribute to the Argentine legend, whose Napoli stadium is now named after him.
"Of course, this is the anniversary of Maradona's death. We all know what Maradona meant to the city of Naples, and it would be beautiful if we could dedicate the victory to him," Conte said, as quoted on the club's official website on Tuesday.
Napoli entered the match on the back of a less than convincing Champions League campaign. They have only collected four points from four matches.
Qarabag, on the other hand, have been a surprise performer this season, winning two, drawing one, and losing one of their four Champions League matches.
