Racer from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Aldiaz Aqsal Ismaya became the champion after defeating other racers in the first race of the National Sport 250cc Mandalika Racing Series (MRS) class at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Saturday.
The Yamaha Yamalube racer became the fastest after competing quite closely with other racers and his fellow NTB rider Arai Agaska who also finished in the top 5.
Second place was won by the racer from East Kalimantan, Chandra from the Yamaha team in the first race which took place in quite hot weather conditions.
Then in third position is the racer from the Honda Team, Irfan Aldiansyah.
"During today's race, I just followed my senior in front to maintain distance," said Aldiaz.
The first race was very exciting, even though there was some drama in the race after an incident involving the racers at the start of the race.
"I kept my distance, after an agreement was reached on the last lap, I turned deeper and managed to be first," he said.
Meanwhile, racer Chandra said that he experienced problems at the start of the race, because after the vehicle, but he managed to maintain his tires because of the hot weather conditions, so he managed to get to the second podium.
"Today's weather is quite hot, for race two it will be even better," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Organizing Committee of Pride, Arief Syahban, said that although several racers were significantly ahead in the points standings, there was also a fight for the runner-up position and so on that could continue.
According to Arief, one of the most anticipated classes is the National Sport 250cc, where Fahmi Basam currently leads the standings with 184 points. Local Heroes Arai Agaska has 162 points, and Candra H has 110 points.
"This class is indeed one of the best in its class at MRS. Because of the jump to ARRC, there is a more visible level of advancement," said Arief.
With the possibility of a match still being possible in all classes, the atmosphere of the final round is getting even more heated.
