PBSI Secretary General Ricky Soebagdja stated that the adjustment was made after PBSI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports completed a final review of the competitive landscape, athlete performance, and the physical and mental readiness of the national squad. He emphasized that the Minister's target of two gold medals was a significant boost for PBSI to strengthen its preparations.
"The government's target motivates us to continue improving our preparations. We want to ensure every athlete competes in top condition and is ready to make the maximum contribution to Indonesia," Ricky said in an official statement on Friday.
Ricky added that all categories—men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles—undergo a structured training program with regular evaluations. He also appreciated the support of the government, sponsors, and the community, which he believes provides additional energy for the athletes in preparation for the SEA Games.
