The additional three points cemented Persija's position in second place in the Super League standings with 29 points. Meanwhile, PSIM remains in fourth place with 22 points.
The hosts threatened from the start. Van Basty Sousa had a chance with a header that hit the PSIM crossbar. PSIM immediately responded with a threat from Ezequiel Vidal's free kick, which goalkeeper Andritany Ardhyasa was able to parry.
Persija's next chance fell to Witan Sulaeman. Receiving a pass from Allano De Souza, Witan fired wide.
By the end of the first half, none of Persija's attacks had resulted in a goal, leaving the score at 0-0 at halftime.
