Rachel/Febi reach Australian Open final, first time in Super 500

  Indonesian women's doubles pair Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setia Ningrum advanced to the final of the 2025 Australian Open after defeating American representatives Francesca Corbett/Jennie Gai 21-18, 21-19 in the semifinals at Quaycentre, Sydney, Saturday.


This final marks Rachel/Febi's first appearance at the Super 500 level since they were paired together in September 2025.


The fierce competition unfolded from the first game. Rachel/Febri, trailing 2-5, managed to rally to a 9-7 lead. However, by halftime, they were back down by two points.


Rachel/Febi showed tenacity as they equalized and regained the lead, 17-14. However, Francesca/Jennie continued to fight back, turning the tide by scoring four consecutive points.




Rachel/Febi managed to hold off their opponents until they secured the first game victory to make the set score 1-0.


The second game was a tight affair, with the score being traded from the start. Both pairs took turns building a two-point lead before the break, with Rachel/Febi leading 7-5.


Rachel/Febi briefly lost momentum, allowing Francesca/Jennie to lead 17-15. However, Rachel/Febi regained their focus and scored crucial points that turned the game around, winning the second game to end the match.
