Rifqi Fitriadi and Christopher Rungkat reach the final of the Kuala Lumpur tournament

  Indonesian men's tennis players Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi and Christopher Rungkat advanced to the ITF M15 Kuala Lumpur doubles final in Malaysia.


Rifqi/Christo defeated the Danish-Italian pair Sebastian Grundtvig Jorgensen/Lorenzo Lorusso with a strong performance 6-3, 6-0, according to ITF records.


The fourth seeds in the tournament next face the Filipino-Australian pair Francis Casey Alcantara/Chase Ferguson.


They reached the final after defeating the New Zealand-Netherlands pair Corban Crowther/Fons Van Sambeek 6-4, 6-4.





Rifqi and Christo last won the ITF M25 Amman Men's World Tennis Championship Series 7 in Nusa Dua, Bali, mid-September.

Meanwhile, in the men's singles, fifth seed Rifqi silenced qualifier Crowther 7-5, 6-4 in their second meeting.


The quarter-final victory improved Rifqi's record over Crowther to 2-0 after their first meeting at M25 Bali in September.


In the semifinals, Rifqi will face Poland's seventh seed, Karol Filar, who defeated top seed Evan Zhu from the US 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 in the quarterfinals.




Besides Rifqi and Christo, the Indonesian men's tennis players who are part of this year's Davis Cup team are also participating in the Kuala Lumpur tournament.


They are Anthony Susanto and Lucky Candra Kurniawan. While Nathan Anthony Barki did not participate, Tegar Abdi Satrio Wibowo competed in the ITF M15 Kuala Lumpur.
