SGA scores 40 points despite being ill, leading the Thunder to their 10th straight win.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder to their 10th straight victory after scoring 40 points in a 113-105 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA Cup, despite reportedly feeling ill during the match.

Citing a report from the official NBA website, Gilgeous-Alexander was previously listed as doubtful to play due to his condition, but still made 12 of 19 field goal attempts and 15 of 17 free throws.

The Thunder have now won 18 of 19 games and are the fifth team in NBA history to record an 18-1 (18 wins, 1 loss) start to an NBA season.

The Thunder also improved their record in Group A of the Western Conference standings to 4-0 and are in a strong position to advance to the knockout stage.

Gilgeous-Alexander extended his personal record of scoring at least 20 points in 91 consecutive games, which is the third-longest streak in NBA history.

Minnesota actually held on until the end thanks to the aggressive play of Anthony Edwards, who scored 31 points and had eight rebounds. However, the Timberwolves failed to capitalize on their opportunities, hitting just 22 of 37 free throws and suffering their third straight loss.
