The DPD RI and the PWI agreed to campaign for Green Democracy ahead of the 2026 National Press Day (HPN).

The Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) have agreed to collaborate to promote the Green Democracy campaign ahead of the 2026 National Press Day commemoration as a response to the global climate crisis.

This was revealed in an audience between the Chairman of the DPD RI Sultan Baktiar Najamudin accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the DPD RI Yorrys Raweyai with the General Chairman of the Central PWI Akhmad Munir and the ranks of PWI management at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Friday.

The Sultan explained that Green Democracy is a new development paradigm that balances human needs, environmental sustainability, and a sustainable future.

"It's a political concept that strives to ensure that every policy not only prioritizes the welfare of the people but also safeguards the sustainability of natural resources for future generations," said the Sultan.

He added that the issues of climate change and Green Democracy are very relevant to President Prabowo's development policies and those of the younger generation.

"If PWI focuses on this issue, many young people will be interested in contributing," he said.
