Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid appreciated 328 works from 209 journalists who raised the issue of child protection in the digital space and PP Tunas at the 2025 Komdigi Journalism Award (AJK) event.
Meutya assessed that the contribution of journalists is important in accelerating public understanding of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection or PP Tunas.
"The TUNAS PP is an issue that is close to the public and important to our children, but it's somewhat difficult to explain simply in a few sentences. So, it requires a narrative that directly reflects the reality in society," Meutya said in a statement.
PP Tunas regulates digital platform governance to protect children from harmful content, commercial risks, and the use of personal data.
Meutya explained that efforts to promote PP Tunas require collaboration between various parties, including the media, to engage with the community and directly hear the negative impacts of digital space on children and how to address them.
