Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Viada Hafid asked young people in Indonesia to be able to use technology as a life solution while maintaining the application of empathy and ethics.
"We must operate technology with empathy and ethics. Technology was created to help humans, not to dominate them," Meutya said in a press statement received and confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, technology such as artificial intelligence ( AI) has currently brought major changes in various aspects of human life and if it is not balanced with empathy and ethics, this technology can lose its moral direction.
Meutya emphasized that humans must remain in a leading position in the use of technology, and must not be controlled by the development of increasingly intelligent technological systems.
In order to maintain this position sustainably, young Indonesians must continue to learn and adapt to technological developments.
"Because technology is smart, we must be smarter too. We must continuously improve our capabilities. We must never stop learning, adapting, and innovating," Meutya emphasized.
