The provinces of DKI , Central Java, and West Java dominated the gold medal tally in weightlifting at the 17th National Student Sports Week and the 11th National Student Paralympic Week.
Based on the match results report on the official Popnas 2025 website the weightlifting medal tally was dominated by six gold, four silver, and three bronze medals.
Central Java also won six gold, two silver, and two bronze, followed by West Java with five gold, five silver, and five bronze.
Weightlifters from several other provinces also won gold medals, including East Kalimantan, Riau, Papua, and Lampung, each with two gold medals. Banten, Aceh, and South Kalimantan each won one gold medal.
The weightlifting branch, which was attended by 22 contingents, competed in 14 numbers, namely the men's +88 kilogram (kg) class, men's 56 kg, men's 60 kg, men's 65 kg, men's 71 kg, men's 79 kg, men's 88 kg.
In addition, the women's +69 kg, women's 44 kg, women's 48 kg, women's 53 kg, women's 58 kg, women's 63 kg, and women's 69 kg classes.
In total, the number of medals for all sports that have been competed for up to the eighth day consists of 250 gold, 250 silver, and 335 bronze.
Popnas XVII and Peparpenas XI Jakarta 2025 on November 1-10 were attended by 5,783 athletes consisting of 5,175 Popnas athletes and 608 Peparpenas athletes.
Popnas competes in 344 events from 23 sports, while Peparpenas competes in 125 events from four sports.
The matches took place in 30 arenas or fields of national and international standards spread across the four administrative cities of DKI Jakarta.
