Tottenham Hotspur manager says Vitinha will win the 2026 Ballon d'Or

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has publicly praised Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Vitinha as the best midfielder in the world today and has tipped him to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or.

Frank made the statement after his team was thrashed 5-3 by PSG in the Champions League on Thursday. Vitinha put in a superb performance, scoring his first hat trick for the French club and playing a key role in the visitors' victory.

"Vitinha is the best midfielder in the world. He will be the next Ballon d'Or winner," Frank told TNT Sports on Thursday.

Vitinha's hat-trick against Spurs saw him join the elite list of Portuguese players who have scored three goals in a single Champions League match.

According to beIN Sport, he became the fifth Portuguese player to do so after Cristiano Ronaldo (8 times), Rui Pedro, Diogo Jota and Joao Mario.

This brilliant performance further emphasized his status as one of Europe's top midfielders.

Last season, Vitinha played a major role in helping PSG win the Champions League title and finish third in the 2025 Ballon d'Or, behind teammate Ousmane Dembele and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.
