Utsunomiya will once again be the opening city for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour in 2026.  Utsunomiya City, Japan, will once again host the season opener of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 World Tour for the 2026 edition, which will begin on April 25-26.

The FIBA 3x3 website said Thursday that the appointment marks the fifth consecutive year the city has hosted the opening tournament, continuing its long tradition as a global 3x3 tournament hub.

Utsunomiya previously hosted four World Tour events between 2016 and 2019, including the 2019 final, further cementing its reputation as an iconic venue for 3x3.

The Futaarayama Jinja Shrine's main stage will once again be the venue for the world's best teams to begin their title hunt for the new season.

Over the past few years, Utsunomiya has produced prestigious champions. Team Miami dominated, winning the title in 2024 and 2025, while Ub recorded two consecutive victories in 2022 and 2023.

This string of achievements further confirms Utsunomiya's status as a competitive arena that determines the direction of competition throughout the season.

The 2026 edition is expected to be even more intense, with teams looking to make an early statement in their pursuit of World Tour glory. The fast-paced and intense format is expected to once again feature the signature three-on-three spectaculars, including powerful dunks , decisive shots, and last-second drama.

The Utsunomiya City Government announced that the city will be bustling with supporting activities throughout the tournament period. In addition to the main tournament, organizers will also host children's matches, special menus at various restaurants, including a gyoza shop, and Japanese cultural experience booths for visitors.

Further information regarding the series of activities will be announced closer to the official opening of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2026.
