Instant messaging app WhatsApp has announced a new app for the Apple Watch, making it easier for users to stay connected to WhatsApp without needing to use their iPhone.
"This is just the beginning of making WhatsApp on Apple Watch a better experience. Your private messages and calls are always protected with end-to-end encryption. We look forward to bringing even more useful features to Apple Watch users in the future," WhatsApp said in a press release on Wednesday.
In addition to reading and responding to messages, WhatsApp on Apple Watch supports many requested features for the first time, including phone notifications. This feature makes it easier for users to see who's calling without having to check their iPhone.
Next, there is the Complete Messages feature, this feature allows users to read WhatsApp messages in full on the Apple Watch—even very long messages can be viewed directly from the user's wrist.
