A new flotilla is preparing to sail towards Gaza next April to break the blockade.

The International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza said on its Facebook page that coalition meetings are continuing in the Irish capital, Dublin, with the participation of representatives from international organizations, including the Global Steadfastness Flotilla and the Thousand Madeleine Initiative, with the aim of coordinating solidarity events around the world.

The committee confirmed that preparations are underway to equip “a large number of ships” to sail towards Gaza in a “peaceful” international movement against the Israeli blockade and occupation.

The announcement comes weeks after the Israeli navy attacked dozens of ships in the “Freedom Flotilla” in international waters last October, arresting hundreds of activists before releasing them later, who spoke of being “tortured” during their detention, according to human rights organizations.

The committee stressed that “global solidarity with Gaza and Palestine is more urgent than ever,” affirming the continuation of international efforts calling for an end to the blockade through legal means and popular pressure.

For two years since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has waged a war of genocide on Gaza, leaving more than 70,000 martyrs and 171,000 wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women.

A ceasefire agreement that was supposed to end the war began on October 10, but Israel violates it daily, resulting in the deaths of 373 Palestinians and injuries to 970 others, according to the Ministry of Health on Sunday.

Israel also prevents the entry of sufficient food and medical supplies into the Gaza Strip, which it has besieged for more than 18 years, and where some 2.4 million Palestinians live in tragic conditions.
