Banten Police affirm their commitment to strengthening the role of women on Mother's Day.  The Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening women's roles in national development through capacity building, career opportunities, and cross-sector collaboration, at the 97th Mother's Day commemoration held at the Banten Regional Police headquarters in Serang on Monday.

Banten Deputy Police Chief, Brigadier General Hendra Wirawan, emphasized the importance of strengthening women's empowerment efforts through policies, fulfilling access to education, economic support, leadership opportunities, and social protection to reduce gender inequality.

He encouraged all parties to be involved in this effort.

"We invite all elements of the nation to strengthen cross-sector collaboration in realizing gender justice and equality as the foundation for achieving Golden Indonesia 2045," he said

He conveyed the message of the Minister of PPPA, Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, who emphasized that the commemoration of Mother's Day is not merely a ceremonial activity, but a momentum to emphasize the contribution of women in social, cultural, economic, and democratic life.

"Mother's Day is not just a ceremonial celebration or Mother's Day, but rather a reflection of the role of women in the family, society, nation, and state," he said.

She emphasized the long history of the Indonesian women's movement, starting from the first Indonesian Women's Congress in 1928, which became the foundation of the national movement for gender equality and empowerment, until it was established as Mother's Day through Presidential Decree Number 316 of 1959.

He also said that women have a strategic role amidst changing times.

"Indonesian women throughout history have been agents of change and drivers of innovation. Despite facing various challenges, women continue to demonstrate resilience and play a vital role as pillars of the family economy, guardians of culture, and leaders in various fields," she said.

He also expressed his appreciation for the work and contributions of women from various professions.

"The highest appreciation to all Indonesian women, from MSMEs, farmers, laborers, health workers, educators, to women working in government, politics, sports, the arts, and technology," she said.

The 97th Mother's Day commemoration serves as a space to strengthen the commitment to upholding gender equality within the Banten Regional Police jurisdiction, as well as encouraging women to continue to be empowered and play a role in inclusive and sustainable national development.
