The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) has again deployed its transport aircraft to deliver two tons of logistics to the flood disaster area in Takengon, Central Aceh, Sunday (21/12).
In an official press release received
it was explained that the aid was provided to meet the basic needs of disaster victims who were still at the location.
"The logistical assistance is a form of concern and response from the Indonesian Navy in supporting the efforts of the government and related agencies to ease the burden on communities affected by natural disasters," said the Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) Rear Admiral Tunggul when confirmed.
Tunggul explained that the NC 212-200 Aviocar U-6211 m aircraft was deployed to distribute logistics to Rembele Airport, Takengon, which is the closest logistics post to the disaster location.
Tunggul continued, the delivery of the two tons of logistics was divided into two stages.
"The aid delivery was carried out in two sorties. The first sortie carried 1,200 kilograms of supplies, including rice, sardines, and milk," said Tunggul.
"Meanwhile, the second sortie carried 833 kilograms of logistics consisting of rice, instant noodles, biscuits, sardines, and wearable clothing," Tunggul added.
He continued, after all the logistics arrived at the Rembele post, TNI personnel would transport the logistics to several disaster locations by helicopter.
This was done because several land routes were still cut off due to the disaster.
Tunggul ensured that his party would always keep its main naval and air weapons systems (alutsista) on standby to distribute logistics to disaster areas.
