Driver Valtteri Bottas is looking forward to making his debut with his new team Cadillac in the 2026 Formula 1 season.
Bottas, who had previously said goodbye to his former team Mercedes, had just visited Cadillac headquarters to test a prototype of the Cadillac car.
"I'm excited to start as a Cadillac Formula 1 Team driver—finally. This is a proud moment in my career as it marks the beginning of a new chapter back on the grid with a team that is beginning its journey in the sport," Bottas said, as quoted from the Formula 1 website on Wednesday.
Bottas admitted that with his experience so far, he hopes to provide input and help Cadillac develop its potential and compete in its first season in Formula 1
"There's a lot of hard work ahead, so I want to use my experience to help the team now that I'm fully committed. Seeing everyone come together for the first time as a new team is special and makes you realize the momentum of this project," said the 36-year-old.
"It's really important to get the preparation right because these moments are really the first steps to getting us ready for the first test. I can't wait to get the season started and go racing again," added the Finnish rider.
Bottas will later work with his teammate, Sergio Perez, who decided to return to Formula 1.
Bottas is scheduled to take part in pre-season testing early next year before officially unveiling himself as part of the team's launch team for the 2026 season.
