Voice of Palestine radio reported that the army stormed the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, leading to clashes and gunfire. Clashes also erupted in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, involving the use of stun grenades, but no injuries were reported. Several homes were raided and searched, but no arrests were made, according to the Wafa news agency.
The army also raided the village of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, without making any arrests or conducting searches. Raids also took place in the towns of Silat al-Harithiya and Qabatiya, west and south of Jenin. The army fired flares in the town of Tuqu', southeast of Bethlehem, without providing further details.
Regarding settler attacks, the Al-Baydar human rights organization reported the demolition of a residential barracks belonging to the Daoud Al-Ba’ran family in the “Al-Duyuk Al-Tahta” area west of Jericho, in addition to attacks on Palestinian lands in the village of Al-Minya near Kisan, east of Bethlehem, where settlers plowed the lands as part of escalating settlement activities.
The United Nations affirms that settlement activity in the Palestinian territories is illegal and undermines the two-state solution, but it has been unable to stop these violations.
Storming the closed UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem
Israeli police on Monday stormed the closed headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Authority’s Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement on Monday: “Reinforced occupation forces stormed the headquarters in the early morning hours,” adding that the Israeli forces “detained the security staff and confiscated their phones, which led to a cutoff of communication with them and made it impossible to know what was happening inside the headquarters.”
This occurred "in conjunction with the complete closure of the area, and the occupation forces carrying out extensive searches that affected all the building's facilities. The raid comes in the context of a series of attacks carried out by settlers and Knesset members," according to the statement.
She noted that the decision "led to the departure of international staff from the city due to the expiration of their Israeli permits, while local staff were not present at the agency's headquarters during the raid." The governorate emphasized that "this raid represents a direct challenge to the UN general Assembly's overwhelming vote just days earlier to renew UNRWA's mandate."
She called for "urgent international action to hold Israel accountable as a rogue state that violates international law, and to hold its leaders accountable for the crimes and violations committed against the Palestinian people and their national and international institutions."
For its part, the Israeli police claimed in a written statement that "the issue is a municipal matter related to unpaid debts, and not a police matter."
She also claimed that the police presence was solely to ensure the safety of municipal employees while they carried out their duties. The police did not comment on the
raising of the Israeli flag on the building and referred the matter to the municipality.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, in a post on the X platform, considered the Israeli action "a new challenge to international law."
Lazzarini added: "This latest action represents a blatant disregard for Israel's obligations as a member state of the United Nations to protect and respect the inviolability of United Nations premises."
For his part, UN Secretary-General António Guterres strongly condemned the Israeli police raid on the agency's headquarters, saying in a statement on Monday: "I strongly condemn the unauthorized entry carried out today by Israeli authorities into the UNRWA headquarters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem. This premises remain a UN property, enjoying immunity and protected from any interference."
Guterres emphasized that any executive, administrative, judicial, or legislative action targeting UN property or assets is prohibited under international agreements.
The agency had operated from this headquarters since 1951, but vacated it earlier this year following a decision by the Israeli government. The government banned the agency's operations in Jerusalem under a law passed by the Knesset (parliament).
Israel claims that UNRWA employees participated in the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, which the agency denies, and the United Nations has affirmed UNRWA's commitment to neutrality.
The Palestinians’ need for UNRWA, the largest international humanitarian organization, is growing under the weight of the repercussions of a genocidal war waged by Israel with American support on the Gaza Strip for two years since October 8, 2023.
Since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Israeli attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have escalated, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 1,092 Palestinians, the injury of about 11,000, and the arrest of more than 18,000 Palestinians, according to Palestinian statistics.
For two years, Israel, with American support, waged a war of extermination on Gaza that killed more than 70,000 Palestinians, mostly children and women, with more than 171,000 wounded.
A ceasefire agreement that was supposed to end the war began on October 10, 2025, but Israel violates the agreement daily, resulting in the deaths of 373 Palestinians and injuries to 970, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health
