Kennie and Elang will be listed as Dewa United's rookies or debutants in the 2026 IBL. Their promotions demonstrate Dewa United's commitment to building a sustainable development pathway, from the academy to the professional level.
Kennie admitted that the promotion was a significant milestone in his career in Indonesia's top-tier basketball league.
"It means I've achieved my target, and it's also a new experience in my life," Kennie said on the IBL's official website on Thursday.
Kennie recognizes that his IBL debut status presents a demanding adaptation process, particularly in maintaining discipline and consistency. Furthermore, playing for Dewa United, the defending IBL champions, also demands greater physical, mental, and behavioral readiness.
However, the 2024 DBL Indonesia All-Star member brought with him the knowledge he gained during his training in Spain through Dewa United's partnership with Joventut Badalona.
