Emre Can: Dortmund's defeat to Leverkusen was bittersweet

 Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can said his team's 0-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the 2025/2026 German Cup round  was very bitter because they were eliminated from the competition.

"In a knockout stage, defeat is incredibly bitter. We wanted to go further in this competition, but we didn't manage to do so," Can said, as quoted on Borussia Dortmund's official website on Wednesday.

However, despite the defeat and elimination, Emre Can stated that the 2025/2026 season is still long and he will work hard to win the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League trophies.

"We have to keep going and will chase in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. We still have a long season ahead of us," he said.
