The Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies will be eyeing victory amidst a storm of player injuries when they meet in the 2025-2026 NBA match at the FedEx Forum in Memphis.
The NBA website stated on Tuesday that both teams are facing the competition in less than ideal condition due to a series of injuries to key players.
Memphis Grizzlies coach Tuomas Lissalo has been left reeling due to problems on the offensive line.
They will be without Zach Edey, Jock Landale is still a doubt with a calf injury, and Brandon Clarke is also out.
This situation made it difficult for the Grizzlies to guard the paint area , especially when they lost to the Washington Wizards last weekend.
Because, in that match, they failed to maintain their lead after losing the rebound and giving many second point opportunities to their opponents.
Lisalo said that this factor was the main difference in the match results.
"I thought we played good defense, but we couldn't keep Washington from getting offensive rebounds, and that was the biggest difference in the game," he said.
The Grizzlies managed to cut the deficit in the final minutes with a three-pointer by Ja Morant, but still failed to secure the win.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers are also facing similar challenges. The Sixers have suffered three straight losses and are still awaiting confirmation on Joel Embiid's condition, who has a sprained right ankle.
Without Embiid, they collapsed in the second half in a crushing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Coach Nick Nurse also highlighted the many unforced errors (turnovers) which were the main cause.
"The large amount of turnover put us in trouble," he said.
Nurse stressed that his team must play solidly throughout the 48 minutes to get back on the winning track.
