Hamas: Zamir's statements regarding the "yellow peril" reveal the occupation's failure to abide by the terms of the agreement.

On Sunday, the Israeli Chief of Staff said that "the yellow line represents the new border of the Gaza Strip," claiming in a statement that it constitutes "the advanced defense line for the settlements and an attack line."

The yellow line is the line to which the Israeli occupation army withdrew as part of the implementation of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war on Gaza.

Hamas political bureau member Hossam Badran said in a statement: "We reject the statements of the Chief of Staff of the Zionist occupation army, Eyal Zamir, in which he claimed that the yellow line represents the new borders of Gaza." He added that "these statements clearly reveal the criminal occupation's lack of commitment to the terms of the ceasefire agreement."

Badran stressed that "the various parties following the Palestinian issue agree that the occupation has not implemented any of the obligations required of it during the first phase of the agreement," and stressed the need to "oblige the occupation to implement the terms of the first phase before discussing the second phase."

Hamas and Israel reached a ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and with US sponsorship, and its first phase went into effect on October 10th.

A member of Hamas' political bureau stated that "the occupation continues to close the Rafah crossing in both directions, obstructs the entry of tents and caravans designated for sheltering displaced people, and significantly reduces the amount of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip, in addition to continuing to commit murder crimes in Gaza."

He considered Israel's continued demolition of Palestinian homes within the Yellow Line as "an extension of actions that were supposed to have stopped from the first day of the ceasefire agreement," and stressed that "these violations are still ongoing without any real commitment."

Badran said: “Any discussion about the second phase must be preceded by clear pressure on the occupation from the mediators, the United States, and all concerned parties, to ensure the full implementation of all the provisions of the first phase.” He stressed that the second phase “cannot begin as long as the occupation continues to violate the agreement and renege on its commitments.”

The second phase of the ceasefire agreement includes provisions for the administration of Gaza through a temporary transitional government, composed of a non-political Palestinian technocratic committee, and the development of an economic plan by President Trump for the reconstruction of Gaza.

The Israeli war of extermination in Gaza, which began on October 8, 2013, and lasted two years, left more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs and about 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, and caused massive destruction with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.
