Hangtuah Jakarta has recruited Kenneth Gabriel Yonathan as a new player to help the team prepare for the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) competition.
The IBL website stated on Thursday that the decision was taken after the club assessed the positive development of the Makassar player in recent months.
Kenneth, who will be a rookie or debutant, previously stole the spotlight when he participated in the 2019 DBL South Sumatra Series.
In an interview at the time, he expressed his determination to focus on his basketball career and was ready to accept offers from professional clubs if the opportunity arose.
Now this commitment has been realized after Hangtuah gave him an official contract.
The Zion High School graduate showed promising performance during his appearance in the 2025 IBL All Indonesian event with the club based at the Ciracas Sports Hall, East Jakarta.
