Indonesia advanced to the women's badminton team final after defeating Malaysia.
Indonesia secured a place in the women's badminton team final at the 2025 SEA Games after narrowly defeating Malaysia 3-2 in the semifinal match at Gymnasium 4 of Thammasat University Rangsit Campus, Pathum Thani, Bangkok, on Monday.

The match was tight until the fifth game, before the young Indonesian women's singles player, Mutiara Ayu Puspita, secured victory by defeating Siti Zulaikha 21-18, 21-16.

"The key to victory this time was to uphold my mandate to play in the fifth match. Besides, Zulaikha and I are the same age, so there's a certain sense of prestige in not wanting to lose," Mutiara said after the match.

Indonesia had opened the lead through Putri Kusuma Wardani who appeared dominant when defeating Karupathevan Letshanaa 21-9, 21-10.

Malaysia then equalized the score to 1-1 in the women's doubles after the Indonesian pair Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum lost to Pearly Tan/Muralitharan Thinaah 14-21, 21-17, 16-21.

The situation turned around when Gregoria Mariska Tunjung lost to Wong Ling Ching 20-22, 21-15, 16-21, leaving Indonesia trailing 1-2.
