Jaka Bijol said his goal against Chelsea was special

Leeds United center-back Jaka Bijol said his goal against Chelsea in the 2025/2026 Premier League match on Thursday morning WIB, which gave his team a 3-1 victory, was very special for at least several reasons.

Quoted from the Leeds United website, apart from being scored against the tough Chelsea team, for Bijol these goals were special because they succeeded in bringing his team victory at home at Elland Road Stadium, Leeds.

"And that was my first goal for Leeds. So, it's hard to describe the feeling, to be honest. It's incredible," said the Slovenian footballer.

According to Bijol, a positive result against Chelsea is important for Leeds as they are having a difficult time in the Premier League this season.

Prior to facing Chelsea, Leeds had suffered four consecutive league defeats. To date, Leeds have only won four of their 14 Premier League matches in the 2025/2026 season.

"So we really needed that win (over Chelsea-ed)," said the center-back, who joined Chelsea from Udinese in 2025.

Bijol also emphasized that Leeds United deserved their win over Chelsea. The 26-year-old believed his squad displayed a ferocious performance despite not having a statistically dominant position in the match.
