The Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Raja Sapta Oktohari, explained the chaos surrounding the kickboxing sport at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
During the 2025 SEA Games, the situation was chaotic due to news about a figure who was said to be the kickboxing team manager, Rosi Nurasjati, being deported by the Asian Kickboxing Confederation (AKC).
Previously, the general chairman of the Indonesian Kick Boxing Central Board (PP KBI), Ngatino, had explained that Rosi was not part of the Indonesian national kick boxing team.
"So, in September, we received a letter from WAKO (The World Association of Kickboxing Organization) Asia. They informed us that in early July they had imposed sanctions on the coach or team manager and a Kyrgyz national coach. The consequence of these sanctions is that both of them are barred from participating in events under the auspices of WAKO Asia, including the SEA Games," Okto said.
"Therefore, we no longer included the person concerned in the contingent in September. In September, the General Chair of the FKI came to us and assured us that as long as the sanctions were still in effect, we could not include the person concerned in the contingent," he continued.
