The Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Raja Sapta Oktohari, denied accusations that his organization had intimidated kickboxing athletes during the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
KOI Executive Committee members Krisna Bayu and Antonius Adi Wirawan were once accused of intimidating kickboxing athlete Andi Mesyara Jerni Maswara.
This problem started when Jerni said on social media that he was pressured by KOI officials to delete his post which said he was cheated at this year's SEA Games.
"What Brother (Krisna) Bayu did was coordinate with the Indonesian Kickboxing Association (PB Kickboxing Indonesia), which should have prevented this athlete from receiving a medal. So, thanks to Brother Bayu's diplomacy, the medal was finally awarded," Okto said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
"The medal should have been awarded to KOI because the AKC (Asia Kickboxing Confederation) federation refused to award it to its athlete. This was because the athlete posted a social media post deemed objectionable by AKC rules," he continued.
Jerni is the bronze medal winner in the women's 50 kg kickboxing class.
