The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) and the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) have successfully resolved the dual leadership issue of sepak takraw, which has persisted for the past few years.
KONI Secretary General Lukman Djajadikusuma in Jakarta, Tuesday, explained that currently, the sepak takraw management has been appointed, namely the Executive Board of the All Indonesia Sepak Takraw Association (PB PSTI) for the 2025-2029 period led by General Chairman Surianto.
The management of PB PSTI, he said, has also been recognized by KOI and the International Sepak Takraw Federation (ISTAF).
"We have also sent a decree confirming the personnel of the PB PSTI for 2025-2029 to the Minister of Youth and Sports," he said.
He said KONI placed the issue of dualism as a priority to be resolved.
Since receiving direction from the Minister of Youth and Sports, his party has continued to hold meetings with the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), the government, and sports branches.
"We are continuing our efforts to resolve disputes in other sports in the remaining time until the end of December," he said.
Lukman added that in principle, KONI does not want the division to continue because it will sacrifice athletes.
