Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir is awaiting a resolution to the dual management issue of three sports, namely table tennis, boxing, and fencing, after the dual management of sepak takraw was successfully resolved."I'm also waiting for the consolidation of the other three sports to resolve the dualism before I take over this issue in January," said Erick Thohir in an official statement .
The dualism issue of the sepak takraw branch management was resolved after the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) appointed the management of the Indonesian Sepak Takraw Association (PB PSTI) for the 2025-2029 period, led by General Chairman Surianto.
The management is also recognized by the Indonesian Olympic Committee and the International Sepak Takraw Federation or ISTAF.
The Minister of Youth and Sports has received a decree confirming the personnel of the PB PSTI 2025-2029 from KONI as well as a letter of recognition of the management of the PB PSTI for the 2025-2029 period from KOI.
He welcomed the resolution of the dualism in the sepak takraw management that had been going on for several years, which had been detrimental to Indonesian athletes and sporting achievements.
