Director of the Indonesian Linguistic Circle (Lilin) Nusantara Mas Uliatul Hikmah in Jakarta, Friday, viewed that this step demonstrated the government's firm position in responding to various criticisms and controversies that have arisen regarding the Perpol.
"The plan to issue the PP implicitly demonstrates the government's support for National Police Regulation No. 10 of 2025, issued by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. This step is not merely an administrative formality, but rather a strong political affirmation from the executive branch," he said.
He believes that the drafting of this PP demonstrates that the government under Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto provides legal certainty that police policies have a clear legal umbrella and will not give rise to multiple interpretations in the future.
"The decision to issue a government regulation demonstrates the government's careful consideration and comprehensive analysis of the situation. This regulation is not merely a reactive response, but rather a strategic step to provide a stronger legal basis," he said.
