The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police sent a company-level unit or the equivalent of 100 Brimob personnel to assist with post-flash flood recovery in Aceh Tamiang.
NTB Regional Police Chief Inspector General Hadi Gunawan, after releasing one SSK Brimob personnel through a departure ceremony at the NTB Mobile Brigade Headquarters, Mataram, Friday afternoon, said that this activity was a follow-up to the order of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to carry out Operation Aman Nusa Natural Disaster activities that occurred in the Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra regions.
"The destination of these 100 people is Aceh Tamiang," he said.
According to him, the Chief of Police issued this humanitarian task order to the NTB Regional Police after seeing the experience of the NTB Mobile Brigade Corps personnel.
"So, they were ordered because the National Police Chief was already aware of the NTB Mobile Brigade Corps' activities to assist the community, both during and after disasters," he said.
The Regional Police Chief hopes that the trust given to the NTB Regional Police in deploying Brimob personnel can accelerate the recovery process in Aceh Tamiang, which is one of the areas worst affected by flash floods.
"Hopefully this will go well so that they can integrate with the local community," he said.
