The Judicial Commission (KY) recommends that the panel of judges in the Tom Lembong case be given a non-gavel sanction.
The Judicial Commission has recommended that the panel of judges adjudicating the sugar import corruption case at the Ministry of Trade, involving the defendant, former Trade Minister Tom Lembong, be given a light sanction, namely a six-month suspended sentence.

The recommendation follows the results of the Judicial Commission's (KY) investigation into Tom Lembong's report of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Judicial Conduct (KEPPH). The recommendation is outlined in Decision Number 0098/L/KY/VII/2025.

"Yes, the recommendation letter has been sent to the Supreme Court," said KY member and spokesperson Anita Kadir when confirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta, Friday.

In the decision, the KY stated that the three reported judges, namely DAF, PSA, and AS, were proven to have violated the KEPPH.

"Namely Number 1 point 1.1. (5) and 1.1. (7), Number 4, Number 8, and namely Number 10 of the Joint Decision of the Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia and the Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia Judicial Commission Number 047/KMA/SKB/IV/2009 and Number 02/SKB/P.KY/IV/2009 concerning KEPPH in conjunction with Article 5 paragraph (3) letter b and letter c, Article 8, Article 12 and Article 14 of the Joint Regulation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia and the Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia Number 02/PB/MA/IX/2012 and Number 02/PB/P.KY/09/2012 concerning Guidelines for Enforcing KEPPH," reads the excerpt from the decision.

Therefore, the KY "proposed a moderate sanction for the defendants in the form of a non-gavel judge for six months."
