Liverpool star Mohamed Salah secured three valuable points for the Egyptian national team after a 1-0 victory over South Africa in their second group stage match of the Africa Cup of Nations

Mohamed Salah, the Pharaohs' star, scored Egypt's only goal from a penalty kick in the middle of the first half.

Egypt will face Angola in the final group stage match, but they have already secured qualification for the next round, meaning Salah will continue to be absent from Liverpool.

The Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 matches are scheduled to take place between January 3 and 6, so Mohamed Salah will definitely miss Liverpool's upcoming matches against Leeds United and Fulham in the coming weeks.

Liverpool will meet Leeds on New Year's Day, then Fulham at the beginning of January, and if the Egyptian national team qualifies for further stages in the African Cup of Nations, Salah will be out for a longer period.

Not only will Mohamed Salah be absent from Liverpool for a longer period, but there is also continued uncertainty about his future at the club after the crisis that erupted recently due to his fiery statements against officials and coach Arne Slott.
