National Commission on Human Rights has conducted a pilot project for human rights assessments in two regional governments representing western and eastern Indonesia, resulting in "sufficient" and "high" ratings.
National Human Rights Commission Chairperson Anis Hidayah said the two regional governments being assessed were the Wonosobo Regency Government, Central Java, as a representative of the western part, and the East Manggarai Regency Government, East Nusa Tenggara, as a representative of the eastern part.
"We certainly appreciate the willingness of these two regional governments. They're not just willing, they have to work together to provide a huge amount of data," Anis said at the National Human Rights Commission office in Jakarta on Monday.
He explained that East Manggarai Regency received a Public Survey score of 67.6 points, followed by an Expert Assessment score of 60 points. The two assessments resulted in a final score of 64.59 points, categorized as "adequate."
