The Indonesian Archery Association (PB Perpani) has designated 2025 as the year of strengthening the national archery development system, capped by a culminating achievement of six gold medals and two bronze medals, as well as overall champion status in the archery category at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
Throughout 2025, PB Perpani will implement a series of tiered development programs that include athlete participation in international events, strengthening national competitions, and improving the quality of human resources through coaching and referee training.
"We believe that the advancement of Indonesian archery is not limited to winning championships. It also requires a consistent and continuous strengthening process, from youth competitions to coaching and refereeing," Perpani stated in a written statement.
The series of activities began in April when PB Perpani sent eight recurve archers to participate in the Hyundai World Archery Stage 1 in Auburndale, Florida, United States.
Indonesia fielded Ahmad Khoirul Baasith, Gusti Fazli Kertinegoro, Alviyanto Bagas Prastyadi, and Riau Ega Agata Salsabilla in the men's sector, as well as Diananda Choirunisa, Ayu Mareta Dyasari, Syifa Nurafifah Kamal, and Fathiyya Erista Maharani in the women's sector.
At the championship, the Indonesian team ranked eighth in the recurve team and mixed team events, and ninth in the women's recurve team event.
In May, PB Perpani held the 2025 national archery referee training in Cikarang, West Java. Sixty-one referees from 23 provinces participated in the training, as part of an effort to improve the quality of national archery refereeing.
In June, the Indonesian recurve and compound archery teams competed in the Asia Cup in Singapore and won two gold medals, one silver, and two bronze medals.
The gold medals were won in the women's team recurve event, strengthened by Ayu Mareta Dyasari, Rezza Octavia, and Diananda Choirunisa, as well as the mixed team recurve event through the pair Arif Pangestu and Ayu Mareta Dyasari.
