Persela Lamongan advisor Yuhronur Efendi said the new coach of the team nicknamed Laskar Joko Tingkir would soon be announced by management to the public as an effort to maintain team stability amidst the club's management transition period.
"God willing, he's already here, and he's the right person for Persela's climate," he said when confirmed in Lamongan, East Java, Friday.
When asked about the identity of the coach, he asked the public to be patient as an official announcement would be made soon.
"As for the name, please be patient. It will be a surprise, and we'll announce it later," he said.
He emphasized that management is committed to maintaining team continuity so that Persela Lamongan remains competitive in the continuation of the 2025-2026 Pegadaian Championship.
In addition, Yuhronur also asked supporters to remain calm and trust the steps being taken by management during the transition period.
"Persela will continue to compete in national competitions. Fan support remains the team's main strength," he said.
According to Yuhronur, in addition to technical improvements to the team, the current important step is to unite sponsors so that Persela Lamongan becomes more independent and sustainable.
Meanwhile, Persela Lamongan Business Director Pradita Aditya said management is also accelerating non-technical improvements by preparing the club's operational office.
He explained that the management office, which is planned to be located at Surajaya Stadium and the downtown area of Lamongan, will be equipped with operational support equipment and is targeted for completion in the first week of the year.
"This office will be the center of team management and coordination activities. We aim to have it completed and ready for use by the first week of the year," he said.
According to him, accelerating management improvements is part of a short-term framework that is being developed in stages so that Persela Lamongan will be managed more professionally in the future.
Persela Lamongan is currently in fourth place in the 2025–2026 Pegadaian Championship standings with 21 points.
The Laskar Joko Tingkir team is scheduled to battle against the host Persipura Jayapura in the first match of the second round on Saturday (27/12) at Lukas Enembe Stadium.
