Persik Kediri management has officially appointed Marcos Reina Torres as the new head coach to replace previous tactician Ong Kim Swee.
Persik manager Syahid Nur Ichsan said Marcos Reina Torres was immediately scheduled to lead the Persik squad's training.
"Marcos Reina will immediately lead training when the players return next week," said Syahid in Kediri, Thursday.
Meanwhile, Marcos said the opportunity to become Persik's coach was a major step in his career in Indonesian football.
"This is a big step in my career, joining a big club like Persik Kediri. I'm trying to develop and lead the team and the club to success together," said Marcos, who has never played in Indonesian football before.
The coach, born in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain, emphasized that despite arriving midway through the 2025/2026 Super League season, he is optimistic about being able to boost Persik Kediri's level.
"We will prepare for every match to win and strive to be as high as possible. We're coming into the competition midway through, so we'll have to consider all the matches we've played before and the remaining matches we have," said Marcos.
