The company provides a series of training and mentoring to farmer groups in Curug Village, starting from an introduction to the Inpari rice variety, fertilization techniques, sowing, pest control, to harvesting and post-harvest land and soil management to maintain pH quality and agricultural sustainability.
"What we're trying to develop is empowering the village economy through farmers. Therefore, we're sharing this superior Inpari Nutrizinc seed, which also plays a more effective role in addressing stunting ," said Acting President Director of PT PII, Andre Permana, in Karawang on Tuesday.
Inpari Nutrizinc rice is a biofortified rice variety with high zinc content , known to significantly support child growth and help reduce the risk of stunting. The rice variety cultivation program by PT PII has been running since 2020.
The company is also committed to continuing the program by increasing rice cultivation using superior Inpari seeds by 2026.
As a special mission vehicle (SMV) under the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) that supports creative financing schemes for infrastructure development, Andre said that the company is also committed to optimizing the social and environmental impacts around the supported project areas.
This program also serves as a form of the company's support for the national food security agenda, as reflected in the 2025 and 2026 State Budgets, which allocate a large budget for strengthening food security.
