Chelsea captain Reece James expressed pride in his young squad, which held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in the 2025/2026 Premier League season at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London on Sunday (30/11) evening WIB.
"I'm proud of this young team. We were able to compete closely with the teams currently at the top of the Premier League without fear," James said, as quoted on Chelsea's official website on Monday.
Against Arsenal, Chelsea only fielded three players over the age of 25 from the start: Robert Sanchez (27), Threvoh Chalobah (26), and Marc Cucurella (27). The rest were younger than that.
Chelsea even fielded U-23 players in their starting XI, namely Malo Gusto (22) and Estevao (18). They also included Alejandro Garnacho (21) and Liam Delap (22) in the second half.
