Samsung Electronics Co. on Tuesday showed off its first trifold phone, which has two folding hinges and a 10-inch display when fully opened, as the tech giant strengthens its foldable phone portfolio.
The Galaxy Z TriFold comes with a 6.5-inch cover display when folded, similar to its sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, allowing users to adapt the device for a variety of usage situations, Samsung Electronics said.
Samsung will release a single variant of the Galaxy Z TriFold with 512 GB of storage in black. The device is priced at 3.59 million won (approximately Rp40.64 million).
The Galaxy Z TriFold is also the thinnest device among Samsung's foldable models, measuring 12.9mm thick when folded and 3.9mm when fully unfolded.
"The Galaxy Z TriFold's thinness isn't just a number. It reflects our efforts to consider even 0.1 millimeters to push the boundaries of technology while maintaining durability, performance, and camera," said Kang Min-seok, Head of Smartphone Product Planning at Samsung Electronics, at a press conference in Seoul, South Korea.
