Apple announced major changes in its artificial intelligence (AI) leadership with the resignation of John Giannandrea, who has led the company's AI development since 2018.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Tuesday, Apple said Giannandrea will remain on as an advisor until next spring.
Giannandrea was replaced by Amar Subramanya, a Microsoft executive who previously spent 16 years at Google and most recently led development for Gemini Assistant. This appointment was considered strategic because Subramanya deeply understands the competitive landscape of the AI industry.
