Telkomsel prioritizes customer data security in SIM card registration
  Telecommunications company Telkomsel is prioritizing customer data security in implementing a new Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card registration system using facial biometric data.

"Customer data security is Telkomsel's top priority. All processes and systems used in biometric registration are designed in accordance with regulations, governance, and telecommunications industry best practices," said Telkomsel's VP of Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility , Abdullah Fahmi, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He said that Telkomsel has obtained ISO 27001 certification for Information Security Management Systems and ISO 27701 certification for Personal Data Protection Management Systems, which are international standards for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of customer data.

"In addition, the biometric technology used complies with the regulator's technical requirements, including the implementation of liveness detection , so the system can ensure the authenticity of customer identities and minimize the risk of data falsification or misuse," he explained.

Telkomsel has expressed its commitment to ensuring that SIM card registration complies with government regulations and provides a sense of security for all customers.
